Letting Go When You are ill

A slave's personality is typically one of a helpful, caring, nurturing nature. That's how i try to be, anyway. When Master is ill, i am all about making Him well and seeing to His every need
There's a fine line between being too clingy and allowing Him time to recuperate from His illness. Then the tables turn and i become the patient!
It was very difficult for me in the beginning of our relationship to understand that there would be times when Master would be the Care Taker and i would be the patient or the one being pampered. When i was very young, 3rd grade i think it was, one of my teachers wrote on a report card, "she's such a good helper!". To this day, it's difficult to let go of that type of behavior, even when Master gives me a direct order to go to bed or a spanking will ensue! The guilt is still there when i hear Him working in the kitchen or doing the chores i know i should be doing!!
Over the years, i suppose i have learned to let go a bit, but not really of my own will. It's simply because Master has given me no choice and given me a simple explaination. i am His property. He will not see His property permanently damaged and not properly cared for when truly needed. Master loves me and wouldn't ever want to see me hurt, which is why He will say when i'm fit to serve Him and when it's time for Him to care for me, without argument or discussion.
This article comes on the cusp of what was a rather sickly week and i thought was somewhat timely for us! With flu season coming up, put this in your bonnet as food for thought when you decide to be hard on yourself! We can't be there for our families if we're in the hospital!
