It's A Girl!!!
Jan 09 2016
Jan 04 2016 t 4:20 PM we had the great pleasure of welcoming our first grandbaby into the world. Little Emma Kay weighing in at 7 pounds 11 ounces and 19 3/4 inches long with a head full of dark hair and beautiful long eyelashes.
Our daughter chose to go all natural for the birth and began labor at 12:30 AM at 6:30 AM she called us and headed over to the hospital. We arrived at 8 AM to find her in pretty active labor and doing well. We were able to visit for a little bit until she was ready for it to be just her and her husband. They did AMAZING. He was supportive and caring and kind and she was strong and determined. As she said, she spent nine months doing everything to ensure a healthy birth, she wasn't going to give in at the end.
16 hours later Emma made her appearance into the world. They laid her upon our daughters skin and Emma found a nipple and began to immediately nurse. I think it was at this point that we lost our daughter and SIL to Emma. She stole their hearts and ours. Two hours later after cleaning her and momma up, and getting them settled in a room, we were able to go visit. I walked into that room and over to hug my daughter, she looked tired and sore and she whispered to me
"Mom it was worse then I thought." I wanted to cry, think as a parent that never goes away.
she then said "But it was worth every minute of it."
Both her and dad looked wore out but the pride and love in their eyes filled that room with sunshine. Both Papa and I got to hold and cuddle emma in those first few hours and we took lots of pictures. Papa said that he has never seen such a cute baby until Emma and It is true. She is perfect in every way.
Our children spent 2.5 days in the hospital before heading home. Our SIL took a couple of weeks of and our daughter is off for a few months. In this past week they have spent time bonding with their daughter and learning all about her. They are amazing parents and so fortune. They have all meals supplied to them for two full weeks. And their home cleaned, and laundry done for the next few weeks. All they have to do..is be a family.
I been asked already to post pics and I will not do that on here. This is not the place for pictures of that nature. You want to see my beautiful granddaughter then find me on facebook (link on sidebar) I also will not be discussing her too much on my journal again wrong place for that type of discussion.
But I really had to share this exciting, life changing news. IMO it was the greatest way to begin 2016!
I am finally a grandma
