Sex Toys and Vibrators

A sex toy is any object or device that is primarily used in facilitating human sexual pleasure. This term can also include BDSM apparatuses, sex furniture, sex swings, fisting sling, Bonkum, or angled cushions and shaped pillows. The most popular sex toys are designed to resemble human genitals and can be classified as vibrating or non-vibrating. Sex toys usually do not include contraceptives, pornography, or condoms.

A related "softer" term is adult toy. Another related term is marital aid, often used as a euphemism for sex toys, although marital aid is broader as it can also be applied to drugs and herbs marketed as supposedly enhancing or prolonging sex.

Penile toys

"Pocket pussies" or "vaginas" or "masturbators" are modeled to accept a penis for simulated intercourse. They can be shaped like vaginas, anuses, or anything with a hole for penetration.

Cock rings in their most basic form enhance and prolong a man's erection by keeping blood inside the penis. A man may wear a cock ring because he has erectile difficulties, or because he likes the particular sensation of tightness and engorgement that wearing one provides. Some models include a protruding clitoral stimulator, designed to tickle the clitoris during sex. Others vibrate, either vibrating the ring itself, or in a popular 'Dolphin' variant using two removable bullet vibrators to provide stimulation to the testicles and clitoris. Some cock rings have vibrators attached which can be worn to stimulate a partner during sexual intercourse, especially in the scrotum or perineum.

A triple crown is a cock ring that has additional rings for restraining the testicles. In orgasm, the testicles usually retract towards the body before ejaculation. A triple crown changes and intensifies the sensation of orgasm by forcing the testicles to stay away from the body.

A cock harness is a more elaborate harness designed to be worn around the penis and scrotum. Its intention is similar to that of a cock ring. Often associated with BDSM activities such as cock and ball torture.

A ball lock is an ordinary padlock fastened around the male scrotum, separating the testicles away from the penis and not removable except by key or combination.

A penis sleeve is a cylindrical device that is placed on the shaft of the penis, with the aim of increasing stimulation for the person being penetrated. They often have soft bumps intended to provide further stimulation.

A hand teddy is a miniature piece of women's lingerie that is worn on the dominant hand.

A penis extension is a partially hollow device like a very short dildo, with the hollow end placed on the end of the penis, intended to increase the effective length of the penis, again for the benefit of the person being penetrated. These are generally worn with condoms to prevent them from falling off during use.

A docking sleeve is a cylindrical device similar to a penis sleeve, but is open at both ends, so that two men can dock.

 Penetrative stimulation

The rabbit vibrator of which there are 100s of variations is without doubt the most popular ladies sex toy in the world popularized by the television series Sex and the City. It comprises of an insertable shaft which often has additional functionality, such as rotation and internal beads or a thrusting action. Attached to the shaft is a vibrating clitoral stimulator. For most rabbit vibrators this comes in the form of "bunny ears" which sit either side of the clitoris.

A dildo is a non-vibrating device which is used for sexual stimulation of the vagina and/or anus. Godemiche is an old word for a dildo in the shape of a penis and scrotum.

A double-ended dildo is a long, usually flexible dildo with both ends designed for penetration. It allows for mutual penetration between two persons.

Vibrators are vibrating devices intended to stimulate the nerves of the body. Vibrators intended for sexual use are often dildo-shaped, although they also come in a wide range of shapes and sizes, allowing internal as well as external use. Vibrators Usually Measure 5 to 7 inches in length and 1 inch wide to mimic the size of an actual penis. Vibrators to be used for anal stimulation are typically smaller.

Ben Wa balls are hollow metal balls, are inserted vaginally, and can be worn inside the vagina for extended periods of time. The internal rolling is said to enhance orgasms, and enable women with vaginal difficulties to reach orgasm

Kegel exercisers, also known as vaginal barbells, are designed to improve muscle tone in the pelvic floor, and can be used for sexual pleasure as well as enhancing vaginal response.

Glass sex toys are becoming common. These are made from Pyrex glass that provide a very strong solid object. Glass dildos are commonly used with lubrication because this combination offers very low resistance.

Sex Toy Material

Silicone is soft and lifelike, warms up quickly to body temperature, non-porous therefore easy to clean (with mild soap and water, or boiled for sterilization). The are made to absorb heat, freezing, and warm up to body temperatures. They are the most versatile toys for people with sensitive skin. They come in many differ lengths, girths, and assorted colors.

Cyber skin, also known under other brand names, is currently the closest emulation of real skin. This relatively new material is made of silicone and plastic. It is very porous, making it necessary to clean it very thoroughly (with antibacterial soap and water) it is then highly recommended that you dust the toy with with cornstarch to keep it from getting tacky.

Jelly is a cheaper, rubber-based material, quite porous, often translucent. It is sometimes scented to mask its strong rubber odor. Jelly toys are very soft to the touch and resemble the feeling of an erect shaft. They are made from a plastic called PVC. Jelly toys are ease to care for with simple solution of hot water and a mild soap. They come in many different length, girths and assorted colors. More often the not a jelly sex toy is usually a dong ( which doesn't vibrate).

Pyrex or sometimes called "glass toys" are made from an industrial grade Pyrex. These toys are becoming very popular. Not only are they a great sex toy, buy some of them can be like pieces of art work. Glass toys have a great advantage over others because they can get really slick during use. They can be cleaned and maintained with hot water and a mild soap.

Safe Sex

Safe sex (also called safer sex or protected sex) is a set of practices that are designed to reduce the risk of infection during sexual intercourse to avoid developing sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Conversely, unsafe sex refers to engaging in sexual intercourse without the use of any barrier contraception or other preventive measures against STDs.

Safe sex practices became prominent in the late 1980s as a result of the AIDS epidemic. From the viewpoint of society, safer sex can be regarded as a harm reduction strategy. Safe sex is about risk reduction, not complete risk elimination.

Although safe sex practices can be used as a form of family planning, the term refers to efforts made to prevent infection rather than conception. Many effective forms of contraception do not offer protection against STIs.

Recently, and mostly within Canada and the United States, the use of the term safer sex rather than safe sex has gained greater use by health workers, with the realization the grounds that risk of transmission of sexually transmitted infections in various sexual activities is a continuum rather than a simple dichotomy between risky and safe. However, in most other countries, including the United Kingdom and Australia, the term safe sex is still mainly used by sex educators. Because these terms are virtually synonymous with each other, they will be used interchangeably throughout this article.

Much attention has focused on controlling HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, through the use of condoms, but each STI presents a different predicament. However, sex educators recommend that some form of barrier protection as a harm reduction measure should be used for all sexual activities which might potentially result in the exchange of body fluids.

Care of Your Horsehair/Rabbit Items

Horsehair

Horsehair requires a little special care: We recommend you wash the hair when it becomes dull or dirty. Use any good liquid dish soap and warm to hot water. The hair is not that fragile and doesn't require fancy soap. For floggers keep the handle dry! Squish the soapsuds through the hair with your hands. Rinse well and blot dry with towel, then hang to air dry. We recommend applying "Cowboy Magic" shine and de-tangler, available at many tack and feed stores. Follow label directions. Use a pin brush or wide-toothed comb on the hair. Comb gently in short strokes, working from hair-tip to handle-end in small sections, and ease apart tangles with your fingers as you comb; don't force the comb or brush. Be gentle but firm, like you would with your own hair. Tangles will pull apart easiest if you pull the hair along the plane of it's length, rather than just pulling apart sideways. Regular brushing keeps overall maintenance down and takes only a few minutes. During transport, cover the hair with a long, toeless sock or fabric tube, or braid the hair and put on a rubber

Rabbit

Do not put your item in a plastic bag. This will create moisture and lead to mold. If your fur gets wet, shake it out and allow it to air dry. Do not use a blow dryer this will result in your item shrinking. Give your item plenty of room to breath, do not pile it in with the rest of your toys, instead set it aside where air can circulate around it.  Do not leave it in your car. A hot vehicle will also cause your rabbit to mold and shrink.  If serious problems or extreme wetness, contact a Cleaner, to have your item cleaned.

Basic Toy Care

Water-Based Lubricants work best with most toys.  Never use Vaseline or petroleum jelly on a toy it will break down the material of your toy.

Condoms can be used over any toy. This helps keep the fluids away from your toy. It also helps ensure safety if you are going to share your toys.

After use, spray a toy cleaner such as Safe Suds on the toy or wash/wipe down your vibrator with warm, soapy water, rinse and air dry. Be careful not to get the mechanical parts wet, or your vibe will become a paperweight.

Remember that Water safe does not mean Waterproof.  To be on the safe side anything without batteries, is always safe for the tub!

Take batteries out of your Vibe after you are done using it. This will prolong the life of your toy and your batteries.

Silicone Toys need to be stored in a plastic bag. Cyberskin is best air-dried. If that isn't possible just get it as dry as you can with a cloth, and then dust the toy with cornstarch so it will maintain its smooth surface.

Care of Your Leather/Suede Gear

DO NOT STORE ANY OF YOUR ITEMS IN A PLASTIC BAG

Care of Your Suede flogger
Suede should never be cleaned with detergents and the like and should never be treated with leather conditioners. If the nap of the suede becomes matted or shiny use a suede stone (as indicated by manufacturers instructions.) to buff the stain out. Suede stones are available at most leather supply stores and most stores that sell leather clothing. A stiff brush would also be acceptable, used lightly. Suede is also more susceptible to wear and may fray at the tips, a periodic trimming will correct the problem. Even with this, the flogger should last for years.

Care of Your leather item
Cleaning your leather item from time to time is important as perspiration, body fluids and lubes will dry out your leather and cause it to crack, and (in some cases) rot the leather. To clean your leather items use a mild solution of Ivory soap and warm water and, if you would like, you can add a couple drops of bleach. Wash the item with a cloth. Don't saturate the toy. Hang the item and air-dry. Never use heat on your leather items. If you find you need to add some oils back into your leather you can use a product called Lexol. Follow the directions on the bottle. You can buy this at most better shoe repair shops.

Care of Your aluminum item
Over time aluminum will loose its luster. Usually you can get the shine back by cleaning it with an SOS pad or fine steel wool NO WATER. If more thorough cleaning is required use a penetrating oil to clean aluminum, then wipe off thoroughly as penetrating oil will irritate the skin, finally buff with steel wool if needed. In worst cases you can use detergents and water, but be sure to dry thoroughly and then clean again with penetrating oil as above

Care of Your Rabbit Fur Item
Do not put your item in a plastic bag. This will create moisture and lead to mold. If your fur gets wet, shake it out and allow it to air dry. Liquid Latex

Before you begin a few words of caution:

Many people are allergic to latex. If you have a KNOWN allergy to latex, rubber products or ammonia products then DO NOT USE Liquid Latex. Allergies can form at ANY time of your life; therefore before EVERY application of latex do a patch test. Apply a small amount on the inner forearm. Leave the latex on for approximately 15 minutes and then remove. In our experience, most allergic individuals will begin to react to the latex within 5 minutes with a burning or itching sensation. If this happens then remove the latex immediately with plenty of soap and water. If all seems well then check the area 24 hours later, so be sure to plan ahead. If there is a rash or itchiness, do NOT use. A patch test MUST be done before each application.

Care of your liquid latex:

As soon as you open your new container of liquid latex you will notice the smell. Ammonia! As soon as the air hits it, it will start to thicken, within a few hours it will form a rubbery top coating and become lumpy. To prevent this, when using the product, be sure to keep mixing it, do not allow it to sit idle for long periods of time.

Once you are done with your latex, any remaining liquid latex should be stored in the original container. We also recommend placing a piece of HEAVY (we actually use a heavy clear freezer bag) plastic over the top of the latex before sealing the container shut. If stored properly latex should last until your next play venture. Liquid Latex has a shelf life of approximately 1 year.
